There have been no updates to the attached Rural Fire Service – Future Works table since the previous meeting. Those were the priorities that will be revalidated on 28 February 2023 as an annual validation process with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Current discussions are taking place with the Tomerong RFS station to revisit the proposal for renovations rather than a new build. A discussion with the Senior Leadership Team, Matthew Reeves and Gary George to occur to determine most suitable option. General discussion regarding accurate costs estimating required prior to submitting budget bids or grant applications. Particularly considering recent inflation and escalation impacts to project costs across the industry. Lake Tabourie RFS Station Council have obtained a quotation from a quantity surveyor to undertake a cost plan for Lake Tabourie RFS Station. Council will fund engagement of QS and issue the cost plan to the RFS for additional information in their budget bids. Currarong RFS Station Cost plan completed when the DA commenced. If Council or RFS apply for a Grant, a cost plan will need to be reviewed to consider cost of inflation and escalation. St Georges Basin RFS Station Parking at the site has become an issue, with additional parking onsite required. An option to resolve the parking issue is to discuss with Shoalhaven water the potential to provide overflow parking on their site. The intersection of The Wool Road and the Wool Lane has become a concern due to safety. Action – Department Manager, Gary George to discuss with Paul Keech regarding the potential for works at this station to improve access. Action – Basin District Engineer, Theo Prakash to respond to the RFS providing an update to items included within letter dated 18/10/22 from Paul Keech to Michelle Thornley.
