Background

On Wednesday 20 July 2016, Council received an email from Mr Thomas Booler notifying that he wished to resign as a member of the Shoalhaven Natural Resources and Floodplain Management Committee.

Mr Thomas Booler advised he has enjoyed representing Burrill Lake since 2005 on what was, for the most part, the Far South NRFMC.  Participating in, and providing input to, locally held meetings that addressed the objectives of the NRFMC specifically in respect of Burrill Lake (and Lake Tabourie) has been interesting and rewarding.  In hindsight, however, [he] thinks the re-formed Committee would be better served by a community representative more in tune with big picture (whole of Shoalhaven) thinking rather than the narrower, very localised issues that interest [him] at this time.  [He] continues to have a strong interest in maintaining a healthy balance between preservation and public enjoyment of the local environment and would be pleased to participate in any local forums/sub-committees if the opportunity arises in the future.”

Community Engagement

Council will advertise the position on PowerFM and 2ST and in the South Coast Register and Milton Ulladulla Times after the Council Ordinary Meeting.

Financial Implications

Council will advertise the position on PowerFM and 2ST and in the South Coast Register and Milton Ulladulla Times after the Council Ordinary Meeting.
